Our border is a catastrophe that is easily solvable.
During the Biden administration, illegal crossings have risen 600% and annually are 3x more than the population of our district.
Even Democrat-run cities now demand something be done as the invasion threatens their ability to sustain city services. Cartels are making billions smuggling humans to the border and then using the overload created to smuggle fentanyl and other drugs that are now the number one cause of death for 18-45 year-olds in this country. Politicians in Washington are doing nothing to solve this issue.
As your next Congressman, I will push to move troops to secure the border, build physical and technological barriers, expand legal immigration, and require all immigrants to apply for asylum before crossing our border. Those found crossing should be immediately returned to the closest port of entry to return home or properly seek asylum or entry. Texas has effectively shut down illegal crossings, and it should be a lesson for all of us.
I understand those seeking the American dream. But we must have controlled, responsible, and ethical treatment of those wanting to come to America.
